Part of the ANYMOTORtm series from DMI, the MC-602 Stepper Motor Controller/Driver is a highly integrated state-of-the-art Indexer/Driver for use with all types of 2-phase step motors. Configurable for single (up to 6A) or dual (up to 3A) motor operation, indexing and absolute positions are maintained with internal CPU control at full micro step resolution. The proprietary Speed Adaptive Winding Excitation (SAWE) algorithms provide superior control of the driving waveforms for low speed torque, immunity from resonances and high speed operation.
SAWE algorithms are the key to the high performance characteristics of the MC-602 Controller. These algorithms have been developed to provide optimum operational characteristics during all phases of a motion system.
Serial communication, single power voltage, and compact size allows remote installation near the driven motor. Communication is either 4/6-wire balance line RS-422/485 or 3-wire RS-232. Wiring is easily set up with straight modular telephone-type cables. The high-level comman language of the MC-602 provides the user with a powerful motion control interface.
Ease of programming is achieved with the ASCII high-level command language. Software for a complex instrument control system can be fully implemented by an ASCII text file, and delivered to many connected modules on the serial party line. Large savings in system software development are easily realized by using the SMART module concept that removes host dependency and drastically shortens system software development time. By combining other controllers in this family, a broad range of system funtionality can be implemented with a few serial ports.
