Many CHOICES to fit your many NEEDS!!!![]() Whether you need a manual control or a computer programmable control, an inline model or standalone box, DMI makes it easy to choose because we have such a variety. Some models are capable of both manual and computer switchable control. THE INLINE SERVOS Although technically not a controller, it is the servo that drives the motor unit inside the actuators. With the exception of the SER3000/3010 series, servo drivers are contained within the constructs of the controllers. The SER3000 itself is an inline device. A compact linear analog velocity servo for brushed DC motors measuring only 2"x4"x1" in dimensions. Included inside is limit-of-travel/stall circuitry with sensitivity adjustment, and an A-QUAD-B encoder signal booster. SER3000-series velocity servos are balanced bridge type for fast response, dynamic braking, low EMI, and absolutely no acoustic noise. Sensing the motor's BEMF provides feedback for constant, programmable motor velocity independent of load. At rest, the servo resists external forces. Powered by a typical 15V (range +6V - +18V) supply, this unit has power to spare while controlling the actuator motion. THE SER3010 The bigger brother to the SER3000, this unit slightly larger, is made to incorporate Burr-Brown's OPA541 power amplifier rather than National's uA759 as used in the SER3000, generating 5A continuous current @ 40VDC versus 1A continuous current @ 15VDC. Both units perform equally well in their respective catagories and make a fine complement to the 1000, 1100, or 1200 series actuators.

THE MANUAL CONTROLLERS Our simpliest controller model line has been designated the 1200 series and is directly compatible with our 1200 series actuators. 1200J - Joystick Controller Capable of controlling two axis simultaneously, this control unit is simple yet amazingly precise. With both SLEW and JOG modes available, you can control the movement rate from the very fast to the very slow. The joystick itself is a true linear ramping voltage potentiometer which means while in SLEW mode the farther you move the stick, the higher the ramp voltage and therefore the faster the motion applied. Since the controller contains the actuator servos, the controllers must be ordered correspondingly to the motor size. The JOG control moves the actuator in small "kicks". It moves the actuator FORWARD or REVERSE. FORWARD moves the drivescrew out from the actuator and REVERSE moves the drivescrew back into the actuator. Although it is not designed to produce precision movements, users who are practiced in its use have reported repeatable motion down close to the 2.5 microns per stick tap. A single JOG tap will produce a single kick the duration of the preset internal pulse. But continuous pressure on the stick while in JOG mode will produce kicks at the rate of approximately 5 per second and thus cause a pseudo-continuous extremely slow motion. With internal limit-sensing circuitry and LED limit indicators, this model is perfect for many types of manual operations. 1200SC - Speed Controller The 1200SC Speed Controller will control 1 of 4 axes at a time. Equipped with both JOG and SLEW mode like the 1200J, this unit is capable of various speed settings. A built in slide potentiometer allows speed control with a 10:1 range selection. FORWARD and REVERSE toggle switch and SLEW/JOG control with built in LIMIT SENSING make this a very useful model. The 1200SC uses one velocity servo for all four actuators. So you cannot run actuators with different-sized motors off the same Speed Controller, as you can with the 1200J Joystick Controller. With built-in "smart" limit sensing, when any limit is reached, the 1200SC's internal circuitry automatically provides a small kick in the opposite direction to prevent mechanical binding. THE COMPUTER CONTROLLERS In an age where computers run rampade the need for computer driven controllers becomes of paramount importance. To that end, DMI has not only made available computer controlled versions of their manual controllers but also extend the available product line to include new models with software programmability. 1200JC - Joystick Controller with Computer Interface The 1200JC works just like the 1200J when working independently of the computer. Without the computer interface cable connected, the 1200JC will act normally. However, by engaging the computer control, elaborative programmed scripts may be performed. Demo software provided is both functional and instructional when used as a basis for writing your own programmed scripts. 1200SCC - Speed Controller with Computer Interface Like the 1200J and 1200JC models, the 1200SCC works just like the 1200SC when working independently of the computer. The following internal signals can be useful for external or computer controllers:
MVP-2001B-J - MicroMo DC Motor Controller Manufactured by MicroMo, this unit is designed especially for use with our MicroMo-brand motors and gearheads (used extensibly by DMI). This compact programmable unit is made specifically for placement near the actuator itself. This one for one unit is designed with a small footprint and DeviceNet capabilities. Designed for both RS232 and RS485 communication standards, 64 units can be chained together for full system control. This model along with the MC-602 controller for stepper motors make up our ANYMOTORtm Controller/Driver series. CONTROL3 Multi-Axis Controller (a proprietary product for Quintel Corporation) An upgraded version of TS Products' previously marketed Control 2 "Smartbox", this unit with separate analog and digital control board sets is a fully programmable multi-axis (32) controller. A REMOTE PANEL permits operator interface for position display and Menu Tree commands function. Custom programming for each application draws on library of motion control functions. Set-up programming typically necessary to match enviroment. A useful addition to the field of robotics and other multi-staged enviroments. Available as OEM board units or enclosed for protection from the elements. Built for RS232 industry communication standards it can be modified with an adaptor to function in an RS485 enviroment as well. (Not General Purpose: requires customization to fit your environment.)
